How To Feed

Tucker's makes raw easy. Learn how to feed our raw products!

Raw Frozen Diets

Each frozen patty is individually wrapped and vacuum sealed for safety, freshness, and convenience. Simply peel open the pouch and place the patty in a covered container and thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Next day, give it a quick mix, portion, and serve.

Once thawed, we recommend using the product within 3-4 days, but you can use the same see/smell practices as with human meat products to determine freshness.

Freeze-Dried Diets

To feed as a meal, serve as-is or rehydrate with water (recommended). To rehydrate, crumble the bars and add 1/4 cup of water for every 12 pieces. If feeding dry, make sure your dog has access to plenty of fresh water.

To use as a topper, simply crumble pieces over your dog's food, making sure to reduce the regular food accordingly.

Raw Frozen Bones

Bones should always be larger than the length of your dog's muzzle. Keep bones frozen until use. You can leave the bone out for your dog to chew on/play with until it starts to chip. If you'd like to get multiple sessions out of a bone, you can place it in a sealed bag and refreeze it up to 2 more times. Always supervise your dog when they have a bone and discard when worn/chipped.

Transitioning Your Pet to Tucker's

Sudden changes in diet can cause digestive upset. We recommend introducing a new food gradually over the course of 7-10 days.

Days 1-3: Feed 75% old food with 25% Tucker's

Days 4-6: Feed 50% old food with 50% Tucker's

Days 7-9: Feed 25% old food with 75% Tucker's

Day 10: Feed 100% Tucker's

Feeding Calculator

Not sure how much to feed your dog? No problem. Enter your dog's information into this calculator to receive a custom analysis of their dietary needs.

There is no “one size fits all” to recommended feeding. A pet’s individual requirements will vary based on several factors, including metabolism, age, daily exercise, health, genetics, outdoor environments, stress and anxiety, and how often a pet receives treats. Veterinarians recommend treats make up no more than 10% of your pet's daily diet.

Our Feeding Table offers a starting point in terms of how much to feed your pet per day, but it can be adjusted to suit your individual pet’s needs.

If you have any questions or concerns about how much to feed, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian.
